Outside forbidden city

As we approached the forbidden city, you see a huge wall and a moat the protected the city. Look up Beijing forbidden city on google to find some info. I am sure other sources are better than my version. It would be well worth the time.

Short story for those who are too lazy to do the google search... Forbidden city is where the emperor and his family lived and the people were forbidden to enter.
